My name is Chelcee Porter and I am SO excited you are here! I love all things health and wellness and can’t wait to share my passion with you.
Although that may be the case now it hasn’t always been that way. Back in high school, you could pretty much catch me having mac and cheese, chocolate milk, and stovetop stuffing for every meal. (no really!) I never thought about working out because I was always involved in gymnastics, dance, and cheerleading growing up. Once I started college my eating habits stayed but my activity level dropped. I would do a workout I saw on Instagram or make a “healthy” recipe from Pinterest but there was no consistency because I had no idea what I was doing!
All that changed sophomore year of college when I decided to make some serious lifestyle changes. I had some belly problems and thought changing my diet would help alleviate the pain and lose some weight. I searched and searched for a “diet” or plan to follow. For a few years, I tried IT ALL. I tried low-carb diets, low-fat diets, being super restrictive, and everything in between.
And while some of that did help me lose weight I wasn’t healthy on the inside.
It wasn’t until I was a few years into pharmacy school that I shifted my focus on not trying to look a certain way but doing what was best for my body. Which was very hard by the way! Social media can make it hard to not compare yourself to others. That is why it is important to me to educate others about foods, their benefits, and different forms of exercise because each of us is unique and will respond to things differently than the person next to us. My goal is to give you the tools to help you figure out what is best for YOU!

I am a wife, mom, and functional medicine pharmacist. I am in the process of completing my functional medicine training through the Institute for Functional Medicine. I currently work as a community pharmacist and am the owner of Porter Wellness, my functional medicine consulting business.
Between balancing work, home, and life, investing time into your health can be challenging. Trust me I get it. But there is no better time to take control of your health than right now.
Simple changes now will lead to a lifetime of health and happiness.
